Do What You Will

I saw that space between us and I filled it with cement
The rain will wear it away and I’ll patch it up again
I stacked bricks high around us to keep the dogs out
Remember when I caught you throwing meat into their mouths

I don’t know what you mumble, but I hear what you say
I don’t know what you want just tell me it’s okay
Do what you will

I watched the light seep in as I sheltered your eyes
Every time you hurt yourself I was as cold to you as ice
And I tried to hold on as you shrunk away from view
I cried my old eyes out until they sympathized with you

I don’t know what you mumble but I hear what you say
I’m a mess without you go away
Do what you will

What I’ve done to you I could never justify
And when you dare to ask why me I will give you no reply

I don’t what you mumble but I hear what you say
I have an extra room if you want to stay
I’m a mess without you go away
